I had a lovely mooch out in the Town of Winchester yesterday. These GORGEOUS peachy bangles stole my heart. All beautiful and vintagey and shouting my name from the rooftops! One of my most favourite shades, all delicate and soft.......so home they came!
Also, on the peachy goodness theme came this thrifty vase. A mere £2 and It was love at first sight....
Ahhhhh peachy pink teamed with chalky blue, a colour combination made in heaven!
Also from my little jaunt out came a peachy scrubbing brush..........
I HATE the drudge of housework, so anything to make it pretty and lovely gets my vote!
A little less peachy in colour but still worthy of a mention was a lovely thrifty lamp find....
A milk glass shade and a beautiful fine glass pale blue base. I couldn't resist for £2.50
So, my pastel finds for the day....putting a gentle, warm little smile on my face.
The sun is shining here which makes things sparkle in my world today!
Have a sparkly day too and a beautiful weekend!

Such delicious pastel finds! I love the pretty flower bangles and the peachy scrubbing brush - I like practical things to be pretty too, it's much easier to dust with a flowery duster! Enjoy your sunny, sparkly, peachy day!

I really like you're pink scrubbing brush, much better than a dull brown one, where did you get it? I want one:) Glad you had a lovely time in Winchester, I used to live there whilst I was studying at the school of art, it is a beautiful place and I miss it quite a bit! Loving the fact you picked up a Homer Laughlin Fiesta Ware vase...of a discontinued color...in the UK! I am American and live in the UK but the Homer Laughlin pottery is a stones throw from my home...or my parents' home, that is! Mom has the whole set of dishes and most of the accessories in that very color...I grew up looking at it! Shechas since retired that set for some new funky colors of Fiesta. I miss mine...but I do have my vase here!
ReplyDeleteI just realized you only paid 2 quid for it....what a huge honking bargain! An unretired color is $35-40, depending which size you buy. Retired colors are sought after collectors items. Peach was made in the late 80s/early 90s and has been retired a good 10 years or so. Hang on to it! You practically stole it!
ReplyDeleteKearsten, I hope you read this as there was no other way of contacting you! Thank you so much for your comments! I have kept meaning to look this vase up as I had no ideas about it at all except that it said Fiesta USA HLC. I looked online after your comments and good grief, they do a beautiful range! The colourways are all so gorgeous! So, I am a bit bummed that living in the UK this range is not something that I could continue with....but I am sooooooo chuffed with the vase. I spotted it from a great distance in the shop and I knew it had to be mine! I keep admiring it daily as I walk by it. Thinking now that I will have to keep it a little higher up to keep sticky mits from grabbing it! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteWow, how lucky were you growing up staring at these pieces!
Thank you so much for your comments, it has led me on a wonderful little journey!!!!!!

You are very welcome. I'm glad what I said was useful! I love me some Fiesta Ware!! Hoping I can bring some of my place settings back with me when I next go home...I hate my boring dishes! LOL I have come across random pieces of Fiesta on eBay...usually mugs. I have a second vase still at my parents, too, as well as a pitcher, salt and pepper, and cream and sugar set! Were you a Friends watcher? If so, you have seen fiesta in the coffee shop. Those huge mugs were fiesta! You may start noticing it on lots of shows and movies, in cabinets and on dish drainers. I am always spotting it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your vase! I hope you can find more pieces and I hope you're starting a life long obsession!
Thought you might like this matching coffee pot!
