Finally......

.......Something to show for all my crafty potterings......

Ridiculous really, there is so much that I should be making that is not actually for me (this time of year and all), but I love this.

The pattern is taken form Nicki Trench's Cute and Easy Crochet. I made it quite long as I love to wrap around a lot. I used Sirdar Supersoft Aran in shade 825 - Mustard

This year has seen me introduce more shades of yellow into my life. I have issues with orange, and realised that because of this, I tended to stay away from all types of yellow, gold and mustard. So...this was my attempt at trying a new colour...and I do love it. It is soft, I love the pattern and I love how it all bobbles around the neck. I have made a few of these in different colourways to give as presents for family......but sheepishly, I love them all so much, they are hard to part with. Me being nicknamed 'scarf girl' by my workmates tells you what i'm like. Hummmmm, well, I can see several more in this pattern being made after christmas when things have slowed down.

I have actually just finished another scarf which I am completely in love with, and I just couldn't part with it. If I can get my act together I will take a pic.

Woo Hoo.....my WIP's are slowly starting to get finished!

Have a fab day all

xxx

  1. It's beautiful, it looks super cosy on you. It could be something out of a catalogue. Mmm scarfy goodness!

Also I love your header, love the snowflakes in the background and the candy canes, so festive, really getting me in the mood. Tomorrow we go to find our Christmas Tree, I say find because it always takes me ages searching for the perfect tree.

Well done finished some WIPs, looking forward to seeing the rest!

  4. That looks so lovely and cosy, I keeping making things that I love so much I don't want to give away!
I'm knitting a scarf in a very similar colour at the moment and it's not a colour I would ever use but it's for my mum. As I'm knitting it, I'm really falling for it.
Look forward to seeing the other scarf.

The colour of thsi scarf is so bright and summery during these dark winter days. A great choice! I'm just in the process of writing up your guest blog post for Sunday Vanessa! So excited! Em x

  8. Lovely warm cosy scarf and a really gorgeous colour too. Looks very good on you. I totally get why you are a scarf queen. I get so much more excited about accessories than clothes and you can never have too many scarves can you? I have that book and that scarf is on my list.

I'm not making much for gifts but I'm on hold at the moment as I seem to have lost my mojo. In the meanwhile, while zooming around the internet I seem to have started to buy up fabric for me instead of gifts for others, which is very bad and I must stop now. So far, I've been very pleased with the fabric as it's been a much better experience than wool buying off the internet - which has turned out to be very different in colour to what I hoped (and sometimes a bit scary or disappointing). The fabric has been as pretty as I hoped. It’s all part of a pre New Year resolution to be more disciplined and not so lazy next year and to make lots of things; knitted, crochet, sewing and anything else I think I can do – instead of just thinking about it!

I have colours I love and if I am not careful I seem to veer towards the same ones every time. It's good though to try out new ones. I must admit to loving orange and it’s my favourite colour that I like to see my daughter wearing as she suits it so much. Me less so but I do wear certain shades. It's the dark colours I really hardly ever wear and I don't think I want to change that!

  9. Your scarf is fab, wish I could create something like that,
I do not do orange either, I cant cope with orange flowers in the garden but I am starting to like Lemon, Primrose, ok yellow for the first time it began last spring when my baby ducklings hatched, yellow and fluffy! Love your blog!

    Take care
