Obsession......

.......You know.....blogging is a funny thing.

I sometimes wonder how you would describe my blog. It's mainly craft, with a bit of this and that thrown in.

I don't really like my picture being taken. I much prefer to be behind the lense. As a result, there aren't too many pics of me on this old blog. But, it doesn't stop you being curious! I get emailed a lot and asked questions like 'what's your dress style?', and 'what make up do you wear and recommend?'.

I guess it surprises me a little, as I don't really show myself. I mean, if I paraded my noggin on here, I guess I might understand it a little more.

So, Ilanna, to answer your question..... I don't think I really have a set style. It chops and changes depending on each day. I like what I like, regardless of what's 'in fashion'. I guess I have just reached that age. Sorry if that disappoints! If you follow me on instagram, you will know that I can sometimes do 'bag lady' very well! There is sometimes a little bit of what I wear on there, but not a great deal.

Currently, I think i'm obsessed with the bat-wing top. Something big in the 80's, not really sure that it ever came 'back in', but I realised not so long ago, that I seemed to have a fair bit of it in my wardrobe.

So here we go, a set of pics taken over a couple of weeks as and when I wore them. Wow, it's hard to take a pic of oneself. I don't enjoy it. I tried hard to chop as much out as I could! So, I present the batwing obsession......

Maybe I just like floaty.

The above one is currently my favourite one. I love the lace edging.

This one was my first, and it started my sleeve obsession a few years ago.

So there we are. A little bit of what I like. None of these tops are current i'm afraid, so I cannot pop you in the direction of any stores.

I have collected a few tablecloths over the past months with the view to turning them into some more 'batty' style tops, however, my crafty 'to do' list is just so long, it may well be a while before that idea comes to fruition! Never mind, one day.

I hope I have satisfied your curiosity a little Ilanna. As for make up....well.....I don't think my face is a good advertisment, so I might leave that one for others! Sorry about that!

  2. So beautiful...I'm not a "label" person, but if it would come to naming your "sleeve style" I'd say you have a perfectly healthy amount of "bohemian" there, with a romantic/vintage note...

    Just lovely!

    1. Hi Victoria. You are a no reply blogger so I cannot reply to you personally. I hope you read this. These pictures are by Pierre-Joseph Redoute. I think they are available to buy from several online art or poster shops. I hope this helps somewhat! : )

  7. Love, love your winged blouses. They are adorable. I personally just have one, but would have more if I wasn´t so wide-hipped (they make me look wider), but they look perfect on you. As for staying behind the lense, I understand perfectly ...for I am the exact same way. What you share is perfect, without robbing you of your privacy...
    Keep the good work!

  10. Your floaty bat wing tops are beautiful. Individual style is so much better than standard high street and I'm sure you look gorgeous hiding behind your mirror. I'm exactly the same hate having my picture taken and everytime I pass a mirror wonder who that woman is. I'm not as old in my head as I really am. Thanks for sharing. Ali x

  11. Awww! I think you have lovely taste and style, that is what it is and people see it in what you make and so they imagine you to be a stylish girl, which you are. People are curious and you are as lovely as your blog. I love your clothes. Gorgeous tops. I love to see pretty and nicely dressed people. Ha, sorry, I sound like a stalker. Our village is chock a block with tracksuit wearers and I find it depressing.
I think your blog is just so sunny and happy and cheering.
Right, I am going now as I sound like a stalker. Erm, byeee!

  12. Totally love bat wings and your style. Ha I thought you were blonde too ! It's a bit like my work where I know a few people well by voice but have never met them face to face. Always funny the image I have in my head vs reality - kind of nice to get to know the person without making any judgement based on what they look like.

  19. Love the blouses, especially the all white ones.... I have a bit of envy going on now. As a busty apple shape I cant wear this style easily - I look like I'm wearing a maternity smock!
But I do join you in the bangle stack.

    Lovely post

I just bought a new grey merino wool top with bat-wings (I am in NZ where winter is upon us!) and have had so many people stop me and ask where I got it from - so there you go...bat-wings are fabulous! You look lovely in the photos, I think number 6 is my fav, but they are all so pretty. Becks xxx

  30. I dont think to many people enjoy having there picture taken. I know I dont! I love the tops though. I was disappointed when you said you didnt have a store where you bought them they are truly beautiful and I love the sleeves full like that myself. Its very feminine and flattering!

  31. I am not photogenic either. Very rarely can a picture be taken of me that I like. Most of the ones that are good are ones that I don't know are being taken.

I love all of your tops. They are so comfortable aren't they? Not binding in any way. I love them. I wish they would come back in, I'd buy quite a few to hide my body. :o)
