I'm certainly not very good at having to re work a pattern to make it fit something, and I'm sure I would have remembered if I had trouble with it. I just remember it being straightforward so I'm sure it was just working straight from the pattern. I did come across Doris Chan's edging from another blog that had used the edging for their blanket (the link is in this post I think)perhaps there is something in that blog post that could be of help. I cannot remember about doing the corners of the blanket but they must have been fairly straight forward (I'm rubbish with complicated!). I'm sorry that I can't be of more help. I'm trying very hard to remember but it was quite a while ago that I made the blanket and I don't really keep any other details on my makes other than what I type on the blog. I hope I may have been of some help to you. Have a lovely day.Coco Rose Diarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00708755502453874593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9105382986664426959.post-33260386848230343182016-07-31T20:03:59.889+01:002016-07-31T20:03:59.889+01:00Love it!!! The lace pattern is for a circular shawl and increases stitches each round. My lace border curls up. Have been trying different things but it still curls up. How is it yours lays flat??? Do you remember if you made any
changes to the lace edge pattern to get your afghan to lay flat???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9105382986664426959.post-90913256496145743772016-03-22T11:07:38.949+00:002016-03-22T11:07:38.949+00:00Hi Mandy,

Originally, this blanket started out being a cushion, but I enjoyed the colours together so much that I carried it on into a blanket. The join as you go method is great for small projects and I wouldn't recommend it if you are making a big blanket. Had I known at the start this was to be a blanket then I would have made the motifs individually and crocheted them all together at the end. It is because the blanket is so heavy, the join as you go method is not the best with the granny joins. The weight of the blanket can pull at them. Having said that, lying over a big bed, it's not a massive issue, but I did notice the weight pull when the blanket was hanging over a door for photographing. The join as you go method is widely available as a tutorial on google by many crocheters. I hope this has helped in some way! Have a lovely day! : )Coco Rose Diarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00708755502453874593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9105382986664426959.post-59017678400142357782016-03-20T12:44:41.548+00:002016-03-20T12:44:41.548+00:00Hello, Love your blanket, was wondering how you l...Hello, Love your blanket, was wondering how you linked them together. I saw a motif around on the internet and just tried to copy it as I liked it being a circle in a square. I don't remember exactly what stitches I used for it, but Attic24 does a summer garden granny square which is practically identical to the one I did. She has a pattern for it on her blog. I just added an extra round of trebles. The border was a border on one of Doris Chan's shawls. It is a free ravelry download which you can find here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/all-shawl#

I hope this is of help. I attached the squares by a join as you go method, but it turned out to be a big blanket and I would rethink this if I did it again and sew all the motifs together.

Happy crocheting! : )Coco Rose Diarieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00708755502453874593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9105382986664426959.post-65151596720719167202016-02-20T09:15:09.846+00:002016-02-20T09:15:09.846+00:00Weldone it is beautiful and i love your border. I have just one question... How did you piece all the squares together, it looks so neat, did you do it as you went along, or first crochet all then somehow attach them to one another. I would really love to give this a try one day. Thank you for sharing...
