R & R?...........

It would be nice if you could step off the fast train you are on sometimes................just pause for a while......take a deep and feel ready to step back on. Life isn't like that unfortunately!

A busy weekend away for a family birthday gathering. Unfortunately, I was under the weather for most of it, but I was glad to be there. Just an unexpected late night drive home and then having to wait up to ridiculous hours in the morning putting on two loads of school uniform wash, because I was behind last week with illness.

So, today, a HUGE amount to do. I need tooth picks to keep my eyes open, but most importantly, a good cuppa in a pretty cup. That always perks me up and keeps me going just that little bit longer!

Sorry, i'm behind in my visits, it's going to take me 'til the end of the week to catch up with all the goings on in blogland!

Happy Monday!!!

  1. Hope you are feeling better. I know what you mean about life being like a fast train. Sometimes it feels relentless - a constant round of washing, ironing, cleaning, cooking etc. It's exhausting. It's so important for us mums to have "me" time and to not feel guilty about it. I should take a leaf out of my own book lol! Have a good week x x

  2. A lovely cup of tea in a beautiful cup like that should help. I hate that feeling when you want to stop and have a breather but there's just not time. I hope you start to feel better soon. x

  3. I nearly bought this cup! Marks and Spencers methinks, they also have lovely biccie tins there at the mo. I hope you are feeling better, I feel a bit like that today, plodding along. The pretty little things always make it better.

Hope the tea re-energised you and hope that life is back to a steady pace. Get better soon!

  5. A little cup of something gorgeous- in that lovely cup would perk you up a little....
Hope you feeling a bit better...& that the sunshine has come out for you...
Somehow the weather can make or break your recovery, don't you think...

    Hugs from here...Melissa xx

  6. I'm a bit like that today - need matchsticks to keep my eyes open!!

Hope you are feeling better and can catch a bit of "you" time soon....

I was like that for the last 2wks, full of cold and under the weather, luckily I've finally shrugged it off and I also found a bit of R&R went a long way.

  16. Poor you - life can feel relentless sometimes and the tasks just seem to multiply when you're under the weather. The beautiful cup and saucer would certainly cheer me up - hope it's worked for you today too. And I hope you soon feel better and that overwhelmed feeling disappears. Happy rest of the week - love your pretty coloured words there!

  20. Poor you, sometimes life gets a bit crazy, doesn't it? If it's any consolation, you're not alone in feeling overwhelmed. Step back from all but the essential things and don't feel guilty about doing things 'just for you'.
