Time For......

.......these babies to come back out and stand proud in the summer sun.........

The day is overcast and muggy here though! Nevermind,  I really needed a colour boost..........and strong coffee...to get me going!

I hope you all had a good weekend. Sunshine? Showers?

Mine was a mixed weekend......today though is quiet, so I have managed a bit of housework so far. I am giving myself a big pat on the back. I have no motivation, and I am a pants housewife, so I had to try REALLY hard to get started! Half the house tidy again after a weekend of chaos and mess. Stop for a cuppa and a bite to eat then at it again with the rest of the house.

I know tomorrow it will look like it has never been touched, and I will HATE that I spent a whole day doing something I loathe all for nothing. But at this moment, the house is quiet....and relatively tidy, so I will spend 5 minutes enjoying it!!!!

Have a lovely monday!

  1. Love all your colourful vases! would look so nice at a vintage wedding, please, move to Wales and join me in my ventures! hahaha

Don't know where to start in my house too.

Do I start with washing all the 200 vintage china settings from the ball or leave them for another day!

    Coffee first!

Love your comments, make me laugh.

  2. Tell me about it!! I have just finished my major clean. I'm okay so long as everyone keeps everything tidy for at least the day I have cleaned. After that I know it is pointless even trying! Love Love your vases! Sue x

  7. Hehe, you sound exactly like the kind of housewife I am - I have all these ambitions of being a perfect 1950's style housewife but then my crafting/horses call me, the whole thing goes to pot and Mr Grumpy cooks dinner again!!

    Love the vases....

  9. I am with you on the housework thing too Vanessa, I hate that it needs doing over and over again! It is very satisfying though when it's done and you can sit down with your coffee and really enjoy your handiwork. Your vases are delightful! Love Linda x

  13. Don't worry about being a pants housewife! (I doubt you are though!) We could all try to be the best housewife.. but most of us will never get there..!
At the moment I can cope with the housework, but as soon as little Rose starts being mobile.. I'm sure I'll struggle!!

  15. LOVE! The colourful vases. So pretty.

Know what you mean about housework. Sometimes it can be quite theraputic but usually its a pain and after 3pm dosent look like I have done a thing!

Currently the livingroom is cushion city!

  18. Hi Vanessa,
    Hope you are well :)
I love your glasses, very colourful and very you!
Thanks for the lovely comment, I was worried I might be alienating some of my readers if my blog isn't all about china and sewing! But I think its going in the direction I want it to.
You should give polyvore a try, even just for fun!
    I think you'd like it!
    Have a lovely week

  22. I am sorry I am so like you!! LOL! I will do ANYTHING to avoid housework, then when I leave it too long the house starts to annoy me and I have to blitz it which takes ages. If only I would learn, as my mother has OFTEN told me, "Catherine, if you dusted and hoovered every day it would be so much easier!". Life would be dull though and I don't have lots of pretty glass bottles to brighten it! Housework tomorrow or go hunting for nice colourful glass to prettify my untidy house? Ummmmm...... Cx

  30. Beautiful colours! I absolutely love your description of being 'a pants housewife'! I adore that word - but when I first heard it when I lived in London a while back, I had no idea what the heck people meant! I thought they were talking about their trousers!!! Hilarious. Have a fab week.
