Stuff.......

The weeks are speeding by at an alarming rate. I'm trying hard to get the time to sit in my little crafting corner to churn out bits and pieces, getting what's in my head, into some sort of woolly reality.

The half term has passed and now it's the run to the finish line of the school year. Goodness me that's scary.

My plan, to be on here less and be in the real world more (so I can get more achieved), has not seemed to have paid off. I am still so far behind it is unbelievable! I need more time. I think we all feel like that though. I have been rushing about here, there and everywhere. Also, walking everywhere, takes a huge chunk of time out of my day. I am trying to adjust to that. Still managing to find time for a little relax in between the hustle and bustle of life though. There wouldn't be any fun to the day if I cut that out totally!

The days are mixed, the weather is mixed.

One day i'm summery......

The next.......

 thick wooly socks....

and my favourite.....a shawl has become a staple...

I am trying to pack a lot in. Apologies for visiting less. I am trying to have strict rules about when and how long I am on the computer each day.

I have been pottering about with crochet. I have ideas in my head i'm itching to get started on. It's all Autumny stuff.

I find I like to work on Autumn/Winter in the Spring/Sumer and vice versa. I wonder what the point is of working on Spring/Summer stuff in the Spring/Summer when it will be finished when the Autumn comes. My head is buzzing and I seem to be flitting from one project to another at incredible speed.

I'm soaking up inspiration too, my brain is overflowing with crafty make ideas.

Trying to balance this all is a juggling act. Sometimes I find myself automatically saying 'no' to Baby Bear when i'm trying to catch up with emails at the computer. I don't even hear what he asks. It's then I just turn it all off and make sure I give him my undivided attention. Sorry if you ask me something and it takes a while for me to get back to you. I do try, but sometimes, I forget where the question was asked and I cannot find the emails. I have been trying to make a better filing system, but some still fall through the net.

So, that's my catch up. Apologies for the hash of photos on this post today. what can I say? I'm lazy!

I'll leave you with a snap of my bargain find of the week.

I seem to be finding it hard to resist novelty salt and pepper shakers. Who'd have thought it! An Ebay bargain that brightened up my day no end. Little pleasures and all that...........!

I hope that you all have a great Friday and a super weekend.

Hopefully soon I might have something to show for all this crafty pottering i've been doing!

  6. Thank you for the delightful photos today. I have three hours in the morning of getting people/dog up, ready and to their destinations and then at 10am I sit and read my favourite blogs. Yours this morning was a delight to the eye.
I have a vision of your thoughts and creativity as a mass of pigeons that's just had a cat jump in the middle of them. It tickled me because that's how I see my brain at the moment too. xx

  7. I know a while ago that you questioned why you blogged and said you thought your blog wasn't particularlyoriginal. I absolutely love it and it makes me happy. Your pics are lovely, like a stylist's dream. You have a talent for all this, very much like Kazzy. I think you should have a book. I would buy it. i can imagine a collaboration between you and Kazzy, a home style, crochet and just loveliness book. I bet you think I am crackers now.
But I know you are busy! I understand totally, there are not enough hours in the day! It makes me feel a bit all over the place sometimes. Anyway, what you do get done is lovely and you will be super fit from walking.

  8. I hear you on the "more time": I could do with an extra twelve hours a day and an extra four days a week to get all the creative stuff out of my head and into reality. But then if we did have all that extra time, I would probably fill it without any thought whatsoever and still need more! Don't let it get you down: someone once said, "this too will pass" (sorry I don't remember who!) and there is a lot of truth in that. Do what makes you happy and everything else will fall into place. :-)

  10. Oh Vanessa, I want to say to you stop saying sorry and stop feeling guilty!!! Give yourself a break woman x x x we are all, after all, only human. Not super human. It does not mean your failing in any way. Life's just too bloody full on. Then I'm a fine one to talk because I feel exactly the same! I seem to spend most of the week whizzing around chasing one errand after the next and then the house gets neglected. I don't know about you, but I feel knackered. My whole body aches with tiredness. Modern family life and being a Mum of busy children and a hectic house with a husband to take care of too is bloody exhausting. Who looks after us?! That's why I think we should look after ourselves and stop with the sorry. No more sorry!!! I for one don't feel the need for you to apologise for not blogging daily! We all live hectic family lives. I find it hard enough to find the time and space to shave my legs let alone blog and take pics which then need fiddling with! Half the time all I want to do right now is either sleep or sit and crochet!! You're a real woman, a real wife and a real Mum x x x we're all just trying to do the best we can and that's enough x x x no more sorrys love!!! OK!!!!

I'm looking forward to refusing to get out of bed tomorrow morning!!!

    Love & hugs,

    Jo x x x

  15. What beautiful crochet eye candy today! Yummy yummy colours :) I know what you mean about automatic answering while on the computer too, I've catch myself doing that before and then realise what I've done. It makes me walk away from the computer too! I also know that ' stop the world a while so I can catch up feeling too'. Don't worry, it'll all get done in good time. Don't sweat it, you're doing a great job!

    1. Hi Andrea.

This shawl was not made by me, it was a shop bought one in a sale last year. I did however, buy it with the intention of seeing if I could figure out it's pattern to create another one, as I love it so much. If I can then I will post about it! : )

Yes, we have to be disciplined or we would spend all our time on here looking but not doing.

As with the above comment, this shawl was shop bought, but I do hope that I will be able to figure out the pattern and re-create it in another colourway. If I can pull it off, I will post about it!

  28. It's always lovely to pop in and see what you've been up to hon. I find myself nodding along with the things you say as it seems so relevant in my life too. I am having less time on the computer lately and it certainly has its benefits. Although I am still managing to ignore the massive pile of washing that needs folding - a skill I am proud of!!!!

Have a fabulous week hon. I hope that summer weather sorts itself out for you soon!
