    1. It's gorgeous and soft......I'm planning on some wrist warmers and maybe a scarf ready for Autumn.....although it's really hot today! The yarn is so fine though that I don't mind the thought of crocheting with it in this heat! x

  3. Those colors make a beautiful bouquet! I've never used an alpaca/silk yarn and wonder what it might be like to knit. I'm looking forward to your reporting back to us. The projects you've got planned sound like great choices. xo

    2. I'll have a little tour around some of my favorites NYC yarn shops and see if I might be able to see and touch some of this yarn.

Let's trade info re our findings. xo

  7. I love all the yarn you have on your blog posts, the things you make are beautiful and I was wondering if I could ask you a question. I really want to have a go at making some crochet edge pillowcases and was wondering what the best yarn would be to try it. I had a go with some wool I had in a bag in my studio but its terrible to crochet with, it just keeps splitting into individual strands and I end up with odd bits sticking out all over the place. I'm only just starting out learning to crochet so any help and advice you could give would be fabulous :-) Kay

    1. Hi Kay,

I would personally only use cotton to edge a pillowcase. It might shrink a tiny bit if you wash it but will stand up to being repeatedly washed whereas other yarns might not. Some cottons are quite splitty to work with but they will fare the best in the long run. If I was to do some i'd use King Cole Bamboo Cotton as I think it's a decent cotton to work with. I hope this is of some help! x

  19. I love your blog...I wish I was a girly, girly, have a friend who is and her house is filled with lovely pastels...roses and such. Her upstairs has a small apartment which she redid to suit her completely. Sometimes her husband doesn't appreciate the girly bits and things. Her upstairs kitchen is done in all red and whites from the 60's era. Filled with fancy red and white polka dot curtains...the bedroom is dreamy..filled with sparkling crystal old chandeliers, ruffled bedding in shades of pink rose pattern. I love to visit her and as much as she as tried to add the girl in me with ruffles and such....the tomboy just seems to come back out. Even the design of your blog is sophisticated, and girly.
