A little March calender to remind me of what I have achieved this month and how beautiful the garden has been. Sometimes the months pass in such a haze that it is nice to stop for a moment and realise that I have seen beauty and I have achieved something, even when I feel like I havn't!
This week, amongst other things I have been working on...........Mother's Day Gifts
Using this pattern..............
From this book...........
Just have to block and starch them a bit to hold the shape well. I used a bigger hook and larger yarn so these pot holders are bigger than they should be, but I wanted more of a statement piece!
I hope they will like them! I think one for me now, I have just the spot for one in my kitchen!
I also wanted to say a HUGE hello to all the new readers that have arrived here in my little bloggy space. It is so lovely to see you here and meet some of you! I hope to pop along to visit you all at some point and say hello. Forgive me though, it may take time, my head is a sieve at the minute but I am trying!!!!!!
Happy Thursday all!

ReplyDeleteThat mosaic shows off your photography skills marvellously. I must remember to upgrade my picnik account as I can only do 4 squares, hardly a mosaic!
ReplyDeleteFantastic pot holder, you Mum'll love it. I haven't succumbed to those Japanese books yet but I'm seeing soooooo much gorgeousness in blog land that's come from them, well, it's surely only a matter of time. I can feel the craving taking hold.
I'm going to give my mum that tea cozy flowery thing I made, better finish it first though, she saw it the other day and dropped some heavy hints so I hope she'll be happy with it. Must get my arse in gear and finish the crochet hook roll I've started for her too, but first there's cleaning to do, washing to sort, beds to make, a baby to cuddle, a blog post to finish, food to be made and eaten. Thankfully the biggun's are at school today so I do stand a slim chance of achieving a few of those things....I hope only got three hours till pick up. Yikes!

ReplyDeleteHello from the MADHOUSE more appropriate than SWEDISH HOUSE lol! Arrived back from London late on Monday...playing catch up big time...in the house etc...very indulgent of me to even look at my fav.blogs.
What you have been doing is beautiful!
Soo creative.
I find and have bought many of these lovely crochet pot holders in the 'loppis' here in Sweden, some are soo intricate...they really are works of art...statement pieces as you say...
I would love to buy them all...but can't...I'm a bit soppy, I think of who the person was that made it...and so I can't walk away without buying one or two... I have quite a collection now! lol!
But I have a few plans for them
Happy Mothers Day for Sunday
LOVE PEACE enJOY

Wow! Your calendar montage is so tantalising! I do love all your photos and could never get bored of your garden ones (previous posting). As always, a visit to your blog is like a colour shot in the arm and so inspiring! Thank you for sharing. (And as Judi A said, can you adopt me please? Not 'cos I'm after a potholder-tho' I wouldn't say 'no'(!), but just so some of your creativeness might rub off).
