A busy week. A week filled with non stop appointments. Do you get those days? Days when a cup of tea or coffee is never savoured, it's just whipped down whilst on the go? But......it has been a colourful week I have noticed.
And I love colour.
Yes I do.
I know I'm a pastel girl day to day, but I REALLY REALLY love my shots of colour. They energise me, when I need to be energised. I have used this bag all week. It's bright and colourful. I was inspired to make it a couple of years ago when I kept coming across them all over pinterest. I have a big granny bag 'to-make' list. There are some beautiful ones like this this these this gorgeous turquoise one this this and this gorgeous one There are plenty of tutorials that are linked to on pinterest for all sorts of granny bags. Quick, easy and loving a shot of colourful granny goodness. I loved the plain granny bag edging look, but I had to adopt a border edge as I wasn't sure that my inner lining stitching was up to the job. It needed to be hidden! ha ha! I loved the mixture of colours though and the possibilities are endless. I'd love to make a plain one next.......maybe rectangular. The lining would certainly be easier to make. Long handles, granny handles, beads, buttons, colourful linings, frills and plain edgings. My eyes are boggling with granny love.
Bright miscellany.
Bright Accessories.
Putting together bags of colours for projects new. The fun bit.
Ahhhhhhh Rice DK. What's not to love about a colour burst like that.
Bright florals and stripes. My favourites.
Pattern and print. I am drawn to it like a moth to the light.
Bright table.
My visit here was brief this week, I am longing for it this weekend.
Stacking the blankets.
Colour, colour all around me to get me through the busy week.
Does anyone else use colour in this way?
And fancy some more colour and inspiration?

So beautiful!!! I love your Colours!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you got that fabulous blue tray from? It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHi Kay,
DeleteI bought it years ago from a local shop in a town I was visiting. I actually bought a few of them in different colours and some bowls and cups too. I've never saw them anywhere else and have never seen them since. I did try and search for them a year ago but had no luck. I'm not even sure what they are called to be honest. Sorry I can't be of more help x
Love all your colorful pictures! And like your bag a lot.... X Claire

Wonderful! I loved your grany bag and grany trows. ^.^
ReplyDeleteI love the all white crochet bag - so different to the usual multi-coloured granny squares. Just found your blog by the way via Pinterest. Love it! And love your Pinterest pinning - I'm getting so much colour inspiration from them (something I struggle with!)
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photo's. The colors are bright and beautiful. They bring life to the room
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful weekend. Blessings, Catherine
So pretty. I'm planning to make a granny bag soon myself and have been trying to decide on wooden purse handles or webbing straps, like yours. I think the straps seem more versatile and they'd be a lot less expensive than the handles. It's good for me to see yours made with the straps.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful colours and designs! xx
ReplyDeleteso beautiful... filled with lovely colours!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, colourful post. It has really cheered up my grey, rainy morning - thank you. x
ReplyDeleteI love this post! So bright and cheerful on a damp and dreary day!

ReplyDeleteWishing you a very happy weekend!

Just the morning, as I was being a really, really good girl walking on the treadmill, I asked myself what I enjoy most about taking the time to read blogs.
ReplyDeleteThe answer is color! Having grown up in a rather drab and uninspired home, I find myself (at this late stage in life) enjoying color. I have introduced lots more colorful items to my home and my wardrobe over the last few years. My inspiration comes directly from blogs like yours so thank you so much for that.
That bag.... oh that bag! It's beautiful, I love everything about it, especially the big turquoise button! Also love the photo of all your crochet blankets. I'm a big fan of mixing patterns and colours too (in fact that's more or less what my last blog post was about). It's a foolproof way to improve a day. I sometimes wonder whether I'm drawn to them because I lack energy most of the time, it gives me a needed boost! I just couldn't surround myself with a sea of black and beige, I would find it soul destroying.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.....and oh those blankets!!!! S xo
ReplyDeleteSo much beautifull crochet blankets and more stuff! I love it!
ReplyDeleteVanessa your bag is gorgeous and the stack of blankets to die for! I am so late in commenting but moving intercontinental has kept me awfully busy these past 3 weeks - I am just about starting to breathe again. Thank you so much for linking my turquoise bag - I made it when I barely managed being able to crochet 2 squares a day after an operation on my ulnar nerve. It was my very first project when I was still under strict surgeon orders not to come near my hook - uhm, I simply couldn't quite obey him. Thank you also for linking all the other bags, I love following links to discover new work. Have a great week! Magda xxxxx
ReplyDeleteIt's a completely beautiful bag Magda. I love the bright turquoise. So uplifting x
DeleteSo much granny goodness! I clicked on every link, and now I can't wait to make (another) granny bag, too! Running for the stash. Your photos are so, so gorgeous--every one is an inspiration. :)

Love your bag. I made a similar one using knitted squares instead of crocheted Granny squares. But I have some gorgeous pure wool that I want to use to make a bag - as soon as I get all these blankets finished.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful happy colours! So much prettiness in your photographs... love the pile of blankets
