The Easter break is almost upon us here. We seem to be later than most. I cannot wait for a few days break.
Happy Easter all, and I shall try and be back soon.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're still here, your blog is beautiful. Beautiful pictures, beautiful crochet, lots of inspiration. I'm looking forward to seeing the sunshine day blanket reach it's completion! I'm rather jealous of it:)
ReplyDeleteKate x
Thank you Kate for your kind words. Can you believe I am on the border of the Sunshine Day blanket and I have run out of yarn! I cannot get hold of another ball anywhere it seems. They are all sold out in my local stores. I might just have to wait a bit longer for it to be finished! sigh x
DeleteI'm always so happy to look at your photos and take a breath of fresh air...
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
Thank you! : ) x
DeleteHappy things, indeed!
ReplyDeleteHoping you will soon find your voice again.

ReplyDeleteIt's been a lovely break. I just need to get real life in some sort of order, then perhaps I can pay this blog a little bit more attention, and decide what I actually want from it x
DeleteI realy love your blog, the colours all over your place. It just make me smile everytime i visit you.
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you so much for your kind words x
DeleteSuch beautiful things. Can't wait to see the results of the paint samples - I've been toying with calamine and borrowed light too. Have a fun-filled Easter. x
ReplyDeleteI am loving those shades. I cannot make up my mind. Grrrrrr, I wish I wasn't so indecisive! x
DeleteHi Vanessa, I just want to say how much I love your blog. I read lots of blogs but yours is by far my favourite, it's the one I go to with a cuppa and a quiet moment. It resonates so loudly in my life,I get your struggles with everyday chores, teenagers and little 'uns, finding your crafty mojo and loosing it again, I get it all. Your blog is everything I want from one, stunning photography, snippets of reality, gorgeous crochet and real life. I just want to say that there's a sister over here that's rooting for you and gets it. Keep doing what you're doing coz you're doing a brilliant job. Happy Easter xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Elena for your lovely words. I felt a little choked actually. I write, but forget that people actually read it. I have been struggling lately with my blog, wondering where it is going. I feel that I am repetitive and not really sure what it is. It's nice to hear what people think, as I never really know who actually reads it, or what they get out of it if they are a regular reader. I guess, it's like minded souls really. I don't want it to be all distant like some blogs are. I want to make stuff, and vent if I need too. I want it to be real, not like I live in some perfect bubble, but I don't want to bombard it with reality, it would be piles of washing and dirty plates! I guess I just need to be happy with it being a little bit of everything. At the moment, I'm finding it a little bit hard to push through it. Never mind. These things come and go. Let's hope my voice will be back soon! x
DeleteYour photos are so incredible, I wouldn't worry about your voice too much! I come here and know each time I am going to be wowed by your photos. Your home just says cozy and loved. The lampshade: did you make it?
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Thank you Brenda. I like taking photos. It's just a little thing that makes me happy throughout the day. I'm not brilliant at it, but it's fun to do. Glad my voice doesn't need to be on here to make people happy enough to visit! x
Delete....oh and the lampshade was from Ikea. Not sure if they still do them. I think they might x
DeleteThat bowl is very pretty. I hope you're doing well, it's always nice to see a new post from you. Take care and happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a Happy Easter too Jennifer. It's been a nice break x
DeleteYou have a beautiful life. Can you adopt me? I would love to live amongst all of your beautiful things - and in that sunshine that seems to gleam in all of your photos. Your blog brings me such joy - thanks for sharing all of these images.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, I just post the nicer bits. Believe me, it's not all sunshine and roses. I have teenage sons. That alone should bump the blog into reality! Thank you for your kind words though! x
DeleteWe moved from Ireland to Berlin. And boy, do I miss Avoca! Not good for my wallet at all but I could spend hours there just looking at all the gorgeous things. The scarves, blankets and all the knitwear, I could have bought it all. I need to go back soon. If only to get me some of those cups. I broke mine during the move.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Easter weekend.
I ADORE Avoca. I'd be there all the time if I lived in Ireland. I just make do with little snippets of stuff every now and then when I come across them in a little shop.
DeleteNo need for words sometimes, the pictures are lovely xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... and a happy Easter-time!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you Mrs Robinson! x

ReplyDeleteAnd to you Kate x
DeleteHappy easter Vanessa, can't wait to see your new blanket. www.littlepinkcanary.blogpsot.com.au
ReplyDeleteAnd to you Renee. My blanket is going to take forever I think! I just have the border to do, but I ran out of yarn, and am having a devil of a job locating another ball. Everywhere seems to be sold out. You wouldn't think mid grey would be so popular! x
DeleteYou have such beautiful things, so beautifully arranged and cared for. I hope that you have a good Easter! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Amy. I hope that you had a wonderful Easter too! x
DeleteGorgeous light and pretty photos. I hope you have a lovely Easter. CJ xx

DeleteOh, I do love those sweet little china birds - is one a salt or pepper pot ? I always love your home photos, and although I know you're going to say that it isn't all like that all the time, it just looks so clean and pure, and pastel - so not like my own dog-ravaged home, where I seem to have chosen colours that either correspond with their fur, or to hide mud splashes. Your gentle, pinks, and mint greens, pale blues and whites, well, that's how I imagine heaven would be ! Maybe I could make a start with those little birds ? Where, please ? !
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, the salt and pepper pots are vintage ones bought off of ebay some years ago. They don't have a makers mark so I couldn't even tell you who made them originally. I just fell in love with them! X
DeleteI've only just come across your blog and really love it, it is so beautiful. Soothing to the soul with all your lovely photography. I've recommended it to many likeminded firends as well.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful eye for what's good in life.
Thank you for posting

ReplyDeleteLiz @ RoseVignettes.blogspot.com
Thank you Liz. It's always fun for me changing the banner x
DeleteFinally. We've reached Easter break. It has been such a long dreary time in all this bad weather and everybody being cold all the time. I love looking at your wonderful pictures! They sure help to get into a good mood and start with my wip again. Many thanks from the north of Germany to good old Britain.
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems the grey has stayed a long time. Nicer weather upon us now, Let's hope it remains sunny and cheery! x
DeleteHow sweet of you to answer. The weather here is improving too and we're off to a small island (not in the Carribean, mind you, but in the north, but since I love the north, no problem.) Your blog really inspires me I hope I can do some serious pastel shopping this week ;)
DeleteI said to my Middle today (who is moving out tomorrow sigh) that I am desperate for Bluebirds, and Fluffy Cupcakes and Chocolate Kittens and Pink AnYtHiNg.
ReplyDeleteSpring hasn't quite sprung here yet (that cold wind brrr) and it is mostly grey and we have Stuff Going On that I am fed up with. And then I see and read your blog and the deepest sigh washes over me. Your house is so pretty I am well jel (as they say somewhere lol).
I need to crochet now.......
x
I am so with you. I have hated the grey. The sun is here more than not now, and it makes such a difference. I can tackle anything if the sun is shining x
DeleteLovely things Vanessa! Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteMadelief x
Thanks lovely. I hope that you had a wonderful Easter too! x
DeleteAll FUN stuff! :)

DeleteOh, I hear your voice behind every photograph. Word heavy typically drowns out our voices.
ReplyDeleteLoved visiting your blog (via Jemma's ... At Home with Jemma).
Thank you Marcia. I think photos will be mainly it for a bit! x
DeleteHello from sunny Shropshire! Hope you don't mind me asking........... but where did you get the pastel/bright coloured candles from in your previous post? The ones on the mantel shelf? I'm desperate for some brightness after all the grey. Thanks a million, Rebecca x
ReplyDeleteHello! The candles came from Tiger. They are 3 for £1 and come in a big range of colours. I hope this helps! Have a lovely day! x
ReplyDeleteAwe thanks lovely. I hope you had a great Easter too. I have been away and fresh salty air and good company do a world of wonders for the soul x
ReplyDeleteI could gaze at your blog all day Vanessa. Such calm and beautiful pictures. I always look out for your pins on Pinterest too. I hope you are enjoying the holidays with your boys and you had a lovely Easter x x x
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are adorables. Kisses
ReplyDeleteI really love your blog and hope you continue... Your blanket is beautiful, as all your works, I would really like to learn crocheting myself. I am new in "the world of blogging" and I finally dated to take the first step. Love Ida
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm new here! I like all your crochet works and the idea of keeping the yarns in the basket.
