Happy Things.....































































1. Finding a bowl I had been after for a while and could not get hold of.

2. The sweetest EVER ring holder.

3. Playing with paint samples.

4. Blooms. I have simply LOVED having Hyacinths in my house non stop since January.

5. Seeing Blossom. How I LOVE it.

6. Coffee and Cake out and about.

7. Dresser sorting.

8. Putting together new colours for a new blanket. I am in LOVE

9. loving vintage florals.

10. Feeling like my Sunshine Day Blanket will be finished really soon! Hooray.


There have been happy things going on. Thank you for your kind comments on my last post. I do feel I have lost my voice. I am trying to blog through it. Maybe not word heavy at the moment.

The Easter break is almost upon us here. We seem to be later than most. I cannot wait for a few days break.

Happy Easter all, and I shall try and be back soon.

      Thank you Kate for your kind words. Can you believe I am on the border of the Sunshine Day blanket and I have run out of yarn! I cannot get hold of another ball anywhere it seems. They are all sold out in my local stores. I might just have to wait a bit longer for it to be finished! sigh x

    Hi Vanessa, I just want to say how much I love your blog. I read lots of blogs but yours is by far my favourite, it's the one I go to with a cuppa and a quiet moment. It resonates so loudly in my life,I get your struggles with everyday chores, teenagers and little 'uns, finding your crafty mojo and loosing it again, I get it all. Your blog is everything I want from one, stunning photography, snippets of reality, gorgeous crochet and real life.       Thank you Elena for your lovely words. I felt a little choked actually. I write, but forget that people actually read it. I have been struggling lately with my blog, wondering where it is going. I feel that I am repetitive and not really sure what it is. It's nice to hear what people think, as I never really know who actually reads it, or what they get out of it if they are a regular reader. I guess, it's like minded souls really. I don't want it to be all distant like some blogs are. I want to make stuff, and vent if I need too. I want it to be real, not like I live in some perfect bubble, but I don't want to bombard it with reality, it would be piles of washing and dirty plates! I guess I just need to be happy with it being a little bit of everything. At the moment, I'm finding it a little bit hard to push through it. Never mind. These things come and go. Let's hope my voice will be back soon! x

      Thank you Brenda. I like taking photos. It's just a little thing that makes me happy throughout the day. I'm not brilliant at it, but it's fun to do. Glad my voice doesn't need to be on here to make people happy enough to visit! x

    We moved from Ireland to Berlin. And boy, do I miss Avoca! Not good for my wallet at all but I could spend hours there just looking at all the gorgeous things. The scarves, blankets and all the knitwear, I could have bought it all. I need to go back soon. If only to get me some of those cups. I broke mine during the move.

      I ADORE Avoca. I'd be there all the time if I lived in Ireland. I just make do with little snippets of stuff every now and then when I come across them in a little shop.

      And to you Renee. My blanket is going to take forever I think! I just have the border to do, but I ran out of yarn, and am having a devil of a job locating another ball. Everywhere seems to be sold out. You wouldn't think mid grey would be so popular! x

    Oh, I do love those sweet little china birds - is one a salt or pepper pot ? I always love your home photos, and although I know you're going to say that it isn't all like that all the time, it just looks so clean and pure, and pastel - so not like my own dog-ravaged home, where I seem to have chosen colours that either correspond with their fur, or to hide mud splashes. Your gentle, pinks, and mint greens, pale blues and whites, well, that's how I imagine heaven would be ! Maybe I could make a start with those little birds ? Where, please ? !

      Hi Linda, the salt and pepper pots are vintage ones bought off of ebay some years ago. They don't have a makers mark so I couldn't even tell you who made them originally. I just fell in love with them! X

    Finally. We've reached Easter break. It has been such a long dreary time in all this bad weather and everybody being cold all the time. I love looking at your wonderful pictures!     I said to my Middle today (who is moving out tomorrow sigh) that I am desperate for Bluebirds, and Fluffy Cupcakes and Chocolate Kittens and Pink AnYtHiNg.
    Spring hasn't quite sprung here yet (that cold wind brrr) and it is mostly grey and we have Stuff Going On that I am fed up with. And then I see and read your blog and the deepest sigh washes over me. Your house is so pretty I am well jel (as they say somewhere lol).
    I need to crochet now.......
