Truth be told i'm a little weary.
I like being at home.
I like pottering about.
They are my favourite kind of days.
The wind has been howling. I do love the sound of the wind though if i'm honest. Something so raw about it. It woke me at 4 on sunday morning......so I lay, in the dark and the quiet......and just listened.

I also occupied myself with little crochet projects that were easily satisfying, and I got out the big ripple blanket I started on at the end of last year.
I love the repetitive rhythm of a ripple blanket.
Lots of lattes (the healthy kind if there is such a thing), and vitamin boosting foods to boost my energy again. A brief respite in the rain meant a gusty walk in some local fields to make my skin tingle and fill my lungs, and a little bit of Six Nations to top it all off.
I know exactly what you mean...quiet weekends at home are the best! That's what I had this weekend too!
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely quiet weekend at home as well. Love the colours of your new ripple.

The weekend sounds like it was a tonic for you. I love that tingly cold feeling on your skin when you return home to the warm. Nothing like it is there.
ReplyDeleteAnd yep another homebody here too!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, such a pleasure to see! Love your ripple blanket, I have been doing a bit more of mine this week. (Btw, re one of your earlier posts that I missed....I don't think you can make too many crochet blankets, especially the gorgeous ones that you create!) I am a homebody too, love pottering and crafting and never get bored..... though I do like little inspiring trips away now and then :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week, Vanessa.

It sounds like a perfect weekend to me, I love a day or two that I have nothing to do but take the day at it's own pace.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Meredith
I am new to your blog and love it already. I, too, am a home body; although, a busy teen daughter does not allow us much time to be cozy at home. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration this morning. ~Kelly

The weather last weekend was so atrocious that we spent most of the time indoors - feet up, reading, listening to music and just chilling out. There's something about wild weather outside - whether it be high winds, snowstorms, thunderstorms etc - that makes you appreciate being snug and warm indoors and simply relaxing and indulging in the peace and comfort of home. Love the colours on your post :)
