Elsewhere......

My head and my life have been pretty chaotic this week.

Last weekend was spent knee deep in paint and plaster.

No time for anything of a self indulgent nature.

I have been itching to finish my latest couple of projects. I am loving them so much. One is almost done and ready to be blocked, and the other is halfway finished. It's all my mind wants to think about......and it just can't. It's making my head hurt. It has been utter chaos this week......and I have seriously been tested. I don't think my brain can take much more.

I have decided that, whilst I am definitely no neat freak, I cannot live for more than a day in household chaos before feeling like I want to cry. What a wuss. I seriously need to man up.

I've tried hard to see the funny side of everything, but honestly, one more stubbed foot and i'll scream.

It has been a slog.

No time to breathe slowly in and out and just be calm.

I have been anything but calm.

I feel somewhat drained.

Oh well. That's life.

Calm will return soon enough. I WILL be pleased to have drawers that open and doors that aren't wonky.

It WILL be worth it....it WILL be worth it.....it WILL be worth it. If I keep saying that long enough I might just believe it.

Until then.......i'll go back into Zombie mode and just get through it. Snapping just a couple of things to put a smile on my face this week..

  1. I hope the calm returns soon. I am like you - I can only stand disorder for a very short while and then the OCD kicks in and I drive everyone else mad clearing up. Lovely photos. Philippa xx

    1. There is dust everywhere, and I have plates, cups, pots and pans scattered all over the place. It'd driving the Bears up the wall. All they want to do is eat and i've taken away all their dishes and their worktops! It is not fun here!

  3. Lovely photos - made me feel calm too, even though I'm more laid back than ever these days! I don't envy your building renovations though, been there, done that and got the grey hairs to prove it! Enjoy the sunshine that's on promise - it'll soon be Spring and your home will be lovelier than usual!

  4. .....And breathe.....

I hear you, I am the same I love having things done in the house but the mess and chaos I find really stressful. And it can leave you feeling drained. Luckily for me my other half is the same. Take a deep breath it will be worth it. And if can find the odd half hour to escape then go for it.

Look forward to any sneaky peeks you might blog I have a feeling it will be lovely.

  8. Your new kitchen will be lovely, and I am hoping you take some of your gorgeous photos of it when all is finished! I know what it's like getting to that point though, and it is very stressful however hard you try to pretend it isn't! Love your pictures today, the colours are so sweet :) Keep dreaming of your crochet, and have a happy weekend.

  12. I hope everything finds some peace soon enough. Even in the midst of chaos, try and carve out some personal time. It's so vital! Soon enough, everything will be finished and these times will seem so trivial and small :-) I hope you feel better soon

  17. It took 6 months to redo our kitchen. I washed dishes in the bathroom sink. It will pass. In the meantime you have some very serene photos to look at!
