The sun is shining.
Beautiful.
I have spent time sipping tea on my back steps.
Mr and Mrs Sparrow dance about in and out of the cracked tile. Soon after, chirp, chirp chirping of tiny mouths wanting feeding can be heard.
Beautiful.
The bee's nest behind my (aptly named beehive) shed, has come alive again this year. They are HUGE. They are like huge bombers going in and out and wafting around the garden.
Beautiful.
The bluebells are staring to open now, just as the muscari are beginning to falter. A sea of blue washes over my tiny patch.
Beautiful.
Doors and windows open, and the waft of freshly drying washing on the line.
Beautiful.
Evening walks, the smell of freshly cut grass and the soothing sound of tractors ploughing fields.
Beautiful.
Magazines to inspire, flowers to makes the corners of the mouth crinkle up, and fresh coffee to waft and awaken all the senses.
Beautiful.
Almost back to normality again. The Easter holidays are nearly over, and soon the house will be quiet again for a good portion of the day. In truth this has been a pretty stressful week. Not a lazy, cake baking, place walking week I had originally planned. But, never mind......I was determined to see the beautiful in the week.
There is so much beauty to see. Often the most insignificant things can make the senses come alive. It has been lovely to tune into it all and I just wanted to remember these moments........
.....as they really are...beautiful.

Gorgeous images, as usual. I can't wait for my garden t ocome alive with spring, just like yours has! We have warmer temperatures here near Toronto ( finally!) and it won't be long until my daffodils emerge! Bees and birds to follow, I'm sure!

Although sometimes a challenge, it's good to be able to see the beautiful and hopefully that will be the stronger memory as we move on.

It's a glorious time of year isn't it, and very beautifully captured if I may say so. I understand what you say about it sometimes being not quite as you had envisaged (get that a lot here!), but you've found a lot of loveliness nonethless. CJ xx

Hello dear
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to live up to those plans on school breaks... You think you will be sitting with the sun on your nose, sipping coffee, read a novel, finish a crochet project and listen to the birds... All this while kids happily feed, serve and entertain themselves like they do in the movies. You know, climbing trees, building a cabin in the woods, play hide and seek for hours on end with all the neighbor's kids... But reality is that you need to kick kids out of bed before lunch hour hits, prepare breakfast before the same hour hits and once that is done the mid hour do hit and half the day is already gone. And then restlessness creeps in to the bored (read out of routine)and "no friends around"-kids and it is "kiddo entertainment" time followed by a late lunch, a late snack and a late dinner... Not much time left over for that novel or that crochet project. Lucky us if we have a moment to breath in and hear those birds and maybe, just maybe, we will manage to finish a hot cup of skimmed coffee before it gets cold and flat... Before another kiddo needs our attention or another meal needs to be prepared. Or cleaned up from. Vacation is lovely but school can be a blessing from heaven for a mother. I can't wait!

A feast for the eyes, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI suppose holiday times can sometimes be a bit like that... but somehow more special when you do get those precious lazy, cake-baking times. You're right, this time of year is so beautiful, and you captured it perfectly. Hopefully time for more tea drinking on the steps this week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post - thank you. In love with all the flowers. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou're right it is so important to stop and look for the beauty around us, especially when things are stressful or difficult. Thank you your lovely pictures reminded me to do just that!
