I've been very moochy. The weather has severely affected my mood this holiday. I don't know why so much this year.
Today
though, the sun is shining, and a smile is on my face. Doomy, gloomy
consistently grey weather in the summer, I find hard.
Okay moan over.
I
still haven't photographed my latest WIP. I may do today if I get a
moment. I'm not sure it's all that photography worthy now though. I love
it so much.....I have lived in it......which is wrong......seeing as it
is cosy and snug and warm........and I shouldn't need that at this time
of year. Anyway.
I have re-organised my dresser. I took everything off it to get it ready for sanding and painting, but the weather turned and my heart wasn't in it. So I cleaned it and washed everything and sparingly put stuff back on. It WILL get a new lease of life......very soon.
I've comfort eaten, how terrible! Urgh, the weather made me! I'm craving all stodgy stuff.....and Casseroles! Baby Bear and I have baked for England. Fresh French Loaves daily and Cake....lots of it. Seriously, clean eating has totally gone out of the window....and so has my waistline.
I'm itching to start a crochet project. My mini hexagon blanket is on hold for the moment, whilst the house is all topsy turvy. I need a lot of space for it. I want something that will be simple and plain. I have two ideas in mind but I'm just being a bit airy fairy about it. I cannot settle. I think it's because I have so much other stuff to do. Never mind. It shall all come together when it's good and ready.
My favourite jeans need repairing. I pinned a fab idea a year or two back on Pinterest, so that's where the lovely fabric comes in. Also, Mr Whale came to stay with me. He's rather lovely and I've become very fond of him very quickly.
I
shall get the WIP on a post, then I may take a blogging break for a
while. I have so much to do in the house and so many projects that need
my attention. I really need to focus (which sadly, is not one of my
strongest points).
Have a super day all

Such gorgeous pictures, I loved this post, Vanessa. I am looking forward to seeing your new make when you are ready. I hope you get everything done that you need to, and that the sun shines for you.

Hello. Thank you for your beautiful pictures, they would make such lovely postcards - I would have the whole set! Please could you tell me where you tend to shop for your clothes? Sorry if that seems cheeky. They are lovely, soft colours and look so pretty. Thank you. Hope you enjoy your weekend & the sun shines for you. Kind regards Sarah
ReplyDeleteHello Sarah!
DeleteThank you for your kind comments. I didn't think I showed really any of my clothes on here! I tend to shop mainly at H&M and Zara for my basics and shop around for anything else that catches my eye, which could be from anywhere really. I just like floaty and usually pastels of any sorts! I'm like a magpie for clothing really. X
Hola, siempre es un placer ver tus imágenes y leerte.
ReplyDeleteQue tengas bonito fin de semana, saludos desde México ^u^
Dear Coco Rose,
ReplyDeletewhatever the weather in your beautiful country (do you know that I go to England every summer holidays because I love it there so much) - in your pictures there is spring, sunshine, a wonderful life. Thanks for sharing the bliss.
And whenever I am in England I can´t resist all the great food there - but coming back I try to do the 5:2 again ...
The very best greetings from Austria

Hello!
DeleteEngland really is a beautiful place, with lots of beauty. It would just be really nice to have a little bit of sunshine to be out and about appreciating it all!!!!!!!! I really need to be doing the 5:2!!!!!!! x
I'm a bit moochy here too, I know exactly what you mean. I can't seem to get to grips with anything. Lots of baking is a top idea. The cake looks particularly good. I shall follow your example. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteThat weather sounds terrible! It's hard enough to get going some days, but grey skies and coolness make August very hard! I hope you eventually get your dresser painted. I'd love to see it "all done." I am planning the same kind of makeover, but I can't seem to get started either! C'mon, girl! We BOTH need to get it together. Or...we could just crochet....... : )
ReplyDeleteYes we do don't we! I think this weather at the moment is really shifting me from my game. I have lost all motivation to do it. It's weird, as soon as the sun shines, I feel ready to take on the world and tackle all manner of silly jobs!!!!! x
DeleteI look forward to seeing your "lived in" project. : ) Some house TLC wouldn't go a miss here for sure.lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of pots and plates have you got! Nice dreamy pictures...
ReplyDeleteFocussing is also hard for me, I know exactly how it feels. There's not much time to crochet around here these days..sadly :-(
Looking forward to the pictures of your wip and good luck with all the work, Sigrid
You have so many whimsical and fun finds--I need to go shopping with you!
ReplyDeletemagnifique blog trés romantique
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures...I have serious whale envy! Would you possibly mind sharing where you bought them from please.
ReplyDeleteHeya,
DeleteI got the whale from 'An Angel At My Table' online shop. I don't know if they still do them as they had gone in the sale. but if you search online for whale bookends, you might find another stockist if they have all gone.
Hi dear
ReplyDeleteCute whale. :) Hope summer has been good for you and your family... Although there might have been more rain than sunshine up north of Europe this year. What a bummer you couldn't follow through with the dresser project... Bloody weather... I'm looking forward to see it one day. When rain stops dripping form above. Talking about blog break... I haven't managed to put out a single blog post in about 5 weeks. It has been good to step away totally from Cyber world. I have rediscovered my creative energy and done so much at home in the house. Sorting, decorating, fixing, repairing. Things that normally just ends up in a big box of "need attention one day...". I have also fallen back into a nice walking routine every day. And with that routine I am now blessed with wonderful deep sleep at night, waking up fresh as a rose every morning. Yes, life is good over at my place. A break was needed. I will son get back to it, release a couple of patterns that has been lying around for waaay to long.
Oh, and before you talked about making something with charcoal grey... Check out Maaike's (CreJJtion) beautiful blanket she made as a commission for Simply Crochet. It is straight up your alley with bobbles and lace but still chunky and with high cozy factor. Simply divine. ( http://crejjtion.com/category/blog/page/7/ ) I think her pattern might be available for the public now. If not I'm sure you can ask her nicely for a copy. :)
Happy late summer Vanessa.

I love your bright and pretty photos. So many pretty things on those shelves!!! Sorry about the weather over there.....I know it does affect me too sometimes, everything feels easier when the sun shines....The weather here has been very warm and sunny this week but our neighbour told me that they had said that this was the last day of real summer because rain was on way here.....I guess like you I need to get some order in the house after the summer.....
ReplyDeleteLook forward to see more of your pretty pictures some other day! Have a nice time til then!/ Jeanette :)
such lovely photography! can't wait to also see the jeans repair....I usually just do some visible mending with sashiko-type stitching, this looks far more interesting!!
ReplyDelete!
Nothing wrong with a good bit of mooching sometimes! xx
