I know for sure that I will love this little blanket when it is well and truly finished....
...and I really only have my idiotic self to blame...
...but feeling happy that the bulk of it is done, only to find, that your lack of concentration means that you have to re-make 6 hexagon motifs as your brain was not up to scratch is highly annoying.
It's not a lot really to have to re-make, but it's the thought that I was done with that bit and ready to start on the home stretch.
I blame my 'December' head....flighty.....scatty......mindless.
Duhhhhhh, what made me even think it was a great idea to do a whole bunch of this blanket in December?????
Ah well......
I WILL love it.......I know I will.
Just have to get there.......

I appreciate your frustration but those hexagons really are divine and the finished item will be spectacular. Philippa xx
ReplyDeleteLOL, I've felt that about a project or two ;-) You'll get there...
ReplyDeleteEsther.
It's looking lovely, not long now!
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's just not fair, is it? Such a pretty blanket, in the most perfect colours...of course the only way you'll get through it is to buy yourself an indulgent box of chocs or biscuits, perhaps a new mug for a posh latte to sip, and then settle down to recreate those hexies. I always bribe myself with treats to do a less-than-wonderful task! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteI love the little floral motifs.
ReplyDeleteLiz @ Shortbread & Ginger
you'll do it in a flash!!!!!
ReplyDeletexxxxx Ale
It will be amazing! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your colour colour choices, just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis is the bit that I find the hardest with crochet....that you can put colours together that you wouldn't, you know, with an outfit, or say with décor, do you know what I mean? With crochet, you have to be imagine the final blanket in all its glory, I spend waaay to much time placing 2 colours together thinking that they won't go, but they probably would in the final finished blanket!
You are brilliant at putting your colours together Vanessa! The other day I was looking for edgings and came across your gorgeous vintage coloured blanket, the one with the deep brown edging, I adore it! I'd love to do that edging on a blanket of my own at some point!
Have a lovely day!

I hate having to redo things, but your hexies are gorgeous! It will be so worth it, but I get the frustration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I hope one day to have an abundance of homemade blankets myself. Yours always inspire!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, how very recognizable! (Especially with hexagons I seem to be making mistakes quite often...)
ReplyDeleteBut: the blanket is turning out lovely, comforting and pastel. ;-) Everything a gorgeous crochet blanket needs!
Have a lovely day, xhaafner
